NEST’s mission:
To ensure Northside thrives as a vibrant and sustainable community by preserving, improving and creating the neighborhood’s built environment.
“Built for Northside”
NEST is a grassroots, neighborhood focused 501(c)3 with a small Staff & dedicated Board of Directors that operates on a yearly budget of approximately $300,000 primarily supported by the City of Cincinnati via Homebase’s Operational Support Grants, individual donors + philanthropic support
NEST has facilitated the sale or transfer of 41 single family home properties - more than half of which were income restricted
NEST has brought over $14 Million in investment to Northside’s Neighborhood Business District through affordable housing, commercial space, public art and pedestrian safety improvements
NEST co-developed John Arthur Flats, the region’s first affordable senior housing project with social and medical services for LGBTQ+ residents
Born of grassroots passion mixed with professional wisdom, NEST has brought a clear vision for the redevelopment of the Northside community since our inception in 2006. Our work is grounded in goal-oriented, mission-based work that is informed by the community’s land use plan. Throughout all of our projects, NEST prioritizes affordability, accessibility, homeownership, business district revitalization and sustainability. We strive to improve and maintain Northside’s housing stock and business district while creating opportunities for residents and business owners to call Northside “home”.
